Tesla, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Porsche and Mazda are just a few names that have begun to perfect electric and Hybrid technology. Advancements in their various technologies have lessened trips to fuel stations and in some instances eliminated these trips completely. Trinidad and Tobago is more steadfast in fuel systems for vehicles, but, has been switching gears cautiously to a Hybrid culture.

Met a Hyundai Ioniq driver today in the gas station who said he fills his tank once a week, just a top up he says of $60.00 TT... His job takes him from Arima to Mayaro 7 days a week!!! Imagine if Hybrid vehicles such as this one were to substantially increase in this country?! What a detrimental blow it would be to our fuel industry.

ReplyDeleteMaybe in time but not immediately. The costs of these new / foreign used vehicles and maintenance are prohibitive for most of the population,even with the waiver of VAT and MVT
