Hybrid maintenance issues

Similar to regular gas engine cars, hybrid cars require the changing of air filters and oil. However, oil changes are much less frequent in hybrid cars than regular gas engine cars. Often, the hybrid car only needs to get an oil change every 5,000 to 10,000 miles. Air filters for hybrid cars should be replaced about every 40,000 miles.

In comparison to gas engine cars, a hybrid car tends to see more maintenance issues with the hybrid battery.  The hybrid battery life is not always reliable and can die off sooner than expected.  Between repair and replacement, hybrid batteries tend to have very high replacement costs.

Would this long run issue deter your purchase of a hybrid vehicle?... see my next post on how to extend life of Hybrid batteries...

  3. Yes, the batteries are really of some concerns. The cost to get a new one is a bit pricey as well. Maybe as time goes by we may see a decrease as more and more becomes available in tnt
